These are a few of my favorite things

This morning I was tired. Scratch that... I was beyond tired. To the point where I was sure that I would fall asleep and my babies would have to fend for themselves to survive. Much to my surprise... I stayed awake. Maybe not 100% but I am shocked everyday as to how I keep going. My body hurts and so does my brain from lack of sleep. I am trying my hardest to be patient with my crazy toddler and my little newborn who needs me every minute. This is a challenging part of my life but I love every second. Even the ones I don't think I love... I really do. Like this morning, Colston woke up WAY earlier than he usually does. Around 6am or so. He in turn woke up Sawyer. I was mad for a minute until I realized that never again would I have  a moment exactly like the one I had this morning. I was holding Sawyer who was content after being fed and changed, and had Colston under my arm. We were all cuddling watching Colston's recently favorite movie, 'Gnomeo and Juliet'. Even though since that moment I have cuddled my babies, no moment will be like that. They were both so sweet. So willing to just sit and be. My heart hurt with the amount of love I have for my little babies. I hate that they have to grow yet I love it at the same time. I know that these hard moments will pass all too quickly and honestly I am sad about it.

OBSESSION #1:
The BLANKIE
The last few months Colston has been ALL about his blankie. The one in the pictures here is his all time favorite. He does however have a few others that hold him over if we leave his little one somewhere or it's in the wash. I love that he is a blankie boy. He has it all day. We take it to the store. We take it on walks. We take it in the car. I wanted though, to capture what he does with his blanket. When he is tired, he finds the corner, and then puts the edge between his fingers. He then pulls the blanket through his fingers over and over. He puts his blanket over his head... then back down off his head. He hides his hands in his blanket. Sometimes when I am really tired and he is OVERLY tired, he literally can not stop this little routine with his blanket and I have to take it away. It's really very tragic but sometimes it's all that works. Oh and lately he covers his trucks with his blankets and pushes them around. He's such a sweet funny kid and we definitely love him so!

OBSESSION #2:
The BINT
This kid loves his bink. 'Bint' is what he calls it.(Up until a few days ago he actually says BINK now.) I know some people are against the binkie but it's saved our lives more than a few times and I'm not going to let him have it forever. Little sister doesn't like hers much so I think getting rid of them all won't be SO bad. We have told him over and over that we are not buying anymore and that he needs to be nice to them if he wants it. This one did not make it. He bite a chunk right off of it. I didn't want to be the one to throw it out though. I wanted him to know that he broke it and needed to throw it in the garbage. Sure he tried... a few times a day for a week or so. He'd walk over to the garbage and sometimes it would even make it IN the garbage, though I'd always see him take it back out or not drop it in at all. No he didn't still USE it but he just couldn't part with it. Until one day, he just did. We are down to TWO binks left. We shall see how long they last!

OBSESSION #3:
Grandpa Barry.
Also known as, 'PAPA'
Colston sure has a special bond with my dad. I'm not sure if it's all the cool noises my dad makes, his lawn mowers and tractors, or just because he's a good person but Colston LOVES him. He loves all our family but gets overly excited at the mention of 'Papa'. Well the other day we were heading out to my parents house to let Colston play outside and just to get out of our house. He literally said 'Papa' 500 times before even leaving our house. To his strong dislike we still had to stop by the bank. FINALLY we got him to stop repeating 'Papa' when all of a sudden Brandon turns and asks Colston, 'Where's Grandpa!?' I looked at Brandon like I could punch him and asked, 'Why would you say that?!' Lo and behold, next to us in line at the bank was my dad's car. Colston say him and said hi through the window with the excitement of 15 children on Christmas morning. His heart was BROKEN when we had to roll up the window and leave. We kept trying to tell him we were going to Grandpa's house but this is what he did... cried and cried. Poor kid.

LAST BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST:
Miss Saucy Pants Sawyer
Two weeks old
6lbs 14oz 20 inches long
Pure sugar and spice from Heaven
We had her two week appt. She got a shot in her leg and scratched her face. She cried and it was sad... then they pricked her heel to do her newborn screening. She slept through that so I felt better. We sure love our little Princess.

Glad you got a picture of his blanket and his fingers. It passes to quickly!
